Flip & mirror image
Mirror a photo left-to-right or top-to-bottom and download it — locally, no upload.
What flipping an image actually does
Flipping reverses an image along one axis. A horizontal flip swaps left and right, as if you held the photo up to a mirror; a vertical flip swaps top and bottom. Neither changes the content, only its orientation — which is why it is different from rotating, where the picture is turned around its centre.
Flipping is useful far more often than it sounds. A selfie taken with the front camera is often saved mirrored, so text on a shirt or a sign reads backwards. Product photos sometimes look better when the subject faces into the page, and a flipped version lets you check a composition from the other side before you decide.
Typical reasons to mirror a picture
Designers flip photos so a person looks toward the headline or the call to action. Crafters mirror artwork before heat transfer or iron-on printing, because the motif is reversed when it is applied. Teachers and presenters flip diagrams to match a left-to-right reading order, and photographers mirror a shot to see whether the framing feels more balanced.
One caution: never mirror an image that contains text, a logo or a recognisable place unless the reversed version is what you want. Backwards writing is the most common giveaway of a careless edit.
Why the result stays sharp
A flip only rearranges existing pixels — it does not resample or interpolate them. That makes it a lossless operation: the mirrored image has exactly the same sharpness and colours as the original. The tool draws your picture onto a canvas in your browser, applies the transform and exports it directly.
Because the work happens on your device, nothing is uploaded and there is no waiting for a server. You can mirror as many images as you like, one after another, and the page keeps working even after you go offline.
Flip, rotate or both
The same panel lets you combine the two. Use the rotate buttons to turn a photo by 90° and the flip buttons to mirror it, in any order, with a live preview. If you only need to straighten a sideways photo, the rotate tool is the quicker route; if you want a full set of transformations in one place, this page covers it.
Privacy by design
All processing happens inside your browser. Your files never reach a server — there is nothing to store, transmit or share.

Load not just one image but as many as you like — by drag & drop or multiple-select. imagenimble processes them one after another, locally in your browser, and packages the results as a single ZIP download. No upload, no account and no fixed limit — only your device’s memory caps very large batches. It is the quick way to convert or edit a whole folder in one go.
Frequently asked questions
Rotating turns the whole picture around its centre in 90° steps. Flipping mirrors it along an axis — left to right, or top to bottom — so the content is reversed.
